The episode opens with a party thrown by David Woolley and Christine Brown to let their children know that David put a ring on it. Christine mentions that both of their kids feel the same way about the speed with which they are moving, but Christine is adamant that she and David "don't care." They're doing things their way, whether the kids like it or not. Ysabel is the only child who knows, because Christine felt she would struggle the most with the news.

Christine plays a video on the family television, telling them that they're going to see video of the wedding venue. Instead, she plays the video of David's engagement. Her son, Paedon, jokes that his mom is very "theatrical" who likes to do big surprises. The kids act excited, but Paedon jokes that he knows their reaction was what his mom wanted. Christine gleefully shows off her ring, but in a confessional, Paedon also expresses that this is moving really fast.

Aspyn says that it took seeing her mom so happy with David to realize how unhappy she was with Kody.

The wedding is set for Oct. 7, 2023 (remember, the episodes currently airing actually took place back in early 2023).

Sister Wives Season 19, Episode 11: Meri Is Finally 'At Peace' (3)

Meanwhile, it's moving day at Meri's house. Kody and Meri's brother-in-law, Nathan, are helping her move, and Kody will be driving her stuff up to her new home in Parowan, Utah. What a nice ex-husband Kody is turning out to be.

Kody says he has mixed feelings about Meri's move, but he's hoping his "goodwill gesture" will keep them on a civil path moving forward.

Meri says she has a "bomb to drop" when Kody arrives: Turns out, the date they are moving is Kody and Meri's actual anniversary. Kody wonders if she picked the date on purpose, but Meri maintains it was not intentional. Meri says she views the date as symbolic of her being done with "her time" and ready to move on.

"It doesn't matter anymore. We're not married," says Meri.

Meri bosses Kody around while he and Nathan help her pack up. It has to be noted that Meri chose to wear a shirt that said, "I saw that. – Karma" on it. Couldn't have been a coincidence.

They reminisce about some of the good times in their marriage, including when they first bought their bedroom set, which Meri is leaving behind. She wants a fresh start, without any furniture reminding her of the past.

Kody and Meri playfully flirt as they pack up, which is interesting for viewers to witness. We haven't seen Kody and Meri this happy, never mind flirtatious, in a long time. But everyone's in good spirits, it seems, and the mood is light. Still, Meri says the flirting is funny but "uncomfortable," and Kody agrees it's funny, but also not right.

David Meets Christine's Sister Wife

Sister Wives Season 19, Episode 11: Meri Is Finally 'At Peace' (5)

Back to Salt Lake City, we pick up at Christine's new house. Janelle is visiting to meet David. How has Janelle not met David? Anyway, Christine is going to introduce Janelle to David and let her know they're engaged. Janelle and Christine greet each other as sisters would, which is sweet.

Janelle says she's excited to meet David, because she's heard so much about him from Christine and her kids. Janelle says she pretty much likes everyone, unless they're "really pompous and full of themselves." Always count on affable Janelle to just lay it all out there.

Christine and Janelle throw on some aprons and start making a lasagna together, while Janelle tells Christine about some farm property she and her kids found in North Carolina. While it's not a done deal, Christine is excited for Janelle and her quest for land.

Then, of course, the topic shifts to what is going on with Coyote Pass. On Sister Wives, all roads lead back to Coyote Pass.

The tone changes. Janelle says Kody promised he'd have the money for the upcoming balloon payment, but she seems skeptical. Janelle mentions she went and spoke with Meri about the property, but Christine seems distracted by her cooking. Christine is disengaged from all things Brown family, and this scene makes it super clear.

Janelle laughs when she says Meri assumed Janelle was in control of the family's finances.

"Dude, if I controlled the money, we would have paid off [the property], built a house."

Kody rewrites history in his confessional, saying Janelle did have some control, but he "guided" where the money went. He also maintains that all the wives had access to their accounts. Janelle says she didn't "control" anything, but she did keep the books.

"You know, it's wild. So this is Kody's MO: He tends to attack somebody in an area that's important to them. So, he would say to Christine, 'I'm not physically attracted to you.' That's what he said. 'The whole marriage, I was not physically attracted to you.' That devastated her."

Kody pops up in a confessional to complain about Janelle telling Christine about his level of attraction for her.

"I told Janelle that I wasn't attracted to Christine when I was moving my stuff out of Christine's house, into Janelle's house. That was a private conversation. I was in pain. I never intended for Janelle to go telling Christine what I thought of her during our breakup. That's just totally rude of her."

Janelle continues that because Kody knows that financial security is important to Janelle, he's going to blame all of their financial troubles on her. And it's here that Janelle breaks the cardinal rule of Sister Wives, which only happens when one of them are really stinking mad: She curses. And admits to drinking a whole bottle of wine.

"It makes me so mad. Because I didn't know it, he was doing it behind my back. He kept telling everybody these stories. And I'm like, '[bleep] hell. Excuse me, but it's like, I didn't do anything except I have to drink a whole freaking bottle of wine when I sat and recorded the transactions and sent them to the accountant."

Janelle is so over all of this.

Sister Wives Season 19, Episode 11: Meri Is Finally 'At Peace' (6)

Still, Janelle wants Meri to be more aware of her financial standing. Janelle also tells Christine that Meri is moving, which Christine is very supportive of.

Christine recounts how the Brown family handled their finances. Christine says all their money went into one pot, and they were paid out of it. By Kody. Kody wrote the checks, so he controlled the money, says Christine.

Christine's New 'Rebellious' Life

Sister Wives Season 19, Episode 11: Meri Is Finally 'At Peace' (7)

After a commercial break, we're still in Salt Lake City. Christine tells Janelle about her tattoo, and says in a confessional that for as long as she's known Janelle, nearly 30 years, they lived a very "straightlaced" lifestyle. And now she's living her new life, one that she previously would have thought of as "rebellious," but she's never been happier.

Christine then drops her engagement bomb, which isn't really a bomb because she literally already had a wedding venue booked, but Janelle is thrilled for them. Still, in her confessional, Janelle echoes the sentiment of pretty much everyone else involved: they're moving scary fast.

Back to Flagstaff and Meri and Kody's moving shenanigans. Kody jokes that Meri is "on point" during their move, and then he makes this infuriating remark: "Meri's on point today. She's just... a wonderful woman that I would have liked to have been married to." [Bleep] off, Kody.

Meri also jokes that they are the "best divorced couple" ever. Kody says Meri is his favorite "divorced wife," to which Meri responds that she knew she'd be the favorite someday. It's bitingly funny, but also sad because it's true.

"You're the favorite ex-wife, Meri."

But then, the lightheartedness disappears. Like the Wicked Witch of the West, Robyn pulls up in her SUV to help with moving day. As Robyn walks up to the moving truck, their joking and laughter subsides. Robyn is there to "help," but it seems like she's also there to cry, because she immediately gets emotional seeing the moving truck.

We see some flashback shots of Robyn and Meri during happier times, and Kody decides to be infuriating again by saying in a confessional that losing Meri is "a heartbreak of extreme proportions that I don't understand." Is Kody for real? Because we have recaps of this entire season, where he repeatedly brushed Meri off, said he didn't love her anymore, said he didn't feel a connection to her anymore, and he doesn't understand why she left?

Sister Wives Season 19, Episode 11: Meri Is Finally 'At Peace' (8)

Meri goes into the house with Robyn to talk, but in reality, Meri just watches Robyn cry. Meri is stone-faced, allowing Robyn to talk through her feelings. But Meri doesn't shed a single tear. Once a wife decides they're leaving Kody, there's a calm, peaceful air about them, which Meri exhibits. She knows there are bigger things out there for her than just being the forgotten first wife.

"Um, she's very emotional. And, um, I don't want to be emotional," says Meri. "... I've had a lot of emotions through this. ... I keep my emotions guarded and I only share them with the people that I'm comfortable sharing them with... I know that Robyn is emotional about this, and that's something she's going to have to process through herself."

Robyn decides the best place to cry through her confessional is in her car, using an extremely unflattering angle. She sobs about Meri leaving, about how this wasn't what they wanted.

But Meri seems to be doing just fine.

"I'm at peace with where I am. I have an internal happiness that I haven't had for a really long time and I'm not going to let that be brought down."

And so another one of Kody's former wives has found her happiness. It only took leaving him.

Meri Brown Has No Regrets

Sister Wives Season 19, Episode 11: Meri Is Finally 'At Peace' (9)

The moving continues, and Meri makes a joke about burning the family mission statement, which they wrote up back in 2014. It clearly didn't work, so Meri says it's basically useless.

Of course, Kody gets his feelings hurt by her comment. He says writing that mission statement was "the pinnacle of joy for me." He says he valued plural marriage and still pretends to not know how it all came crumbling down.

Meri and Kody get on the road, and in a confessional, Meri says she has no regrets.

Meanwhile, Christine finally gets to introduce Janelle to her fiancé. Christine introduces Janelle as her "sister wife," cementing their bond forever.

Janelle says David is perfect for Christine because she was always "really attracted to that bad-a**" type of guy.

"Christine actually seems happy. I can tell that she feels loved and I can tell that she's confident. I can tell she knows she's loved and she's secure in that. It's amazing for her."

Kody's In His Feels Again

Sister Wives Season 19, Episode 11: Meri Is Finally 'At Peace' (10)

Kody and Meri arrive in Utah, where Meri's friend Jenn and Nathan meet them to help unload her things. Kody jokes that their relationship is now more "brother and sister," while Meri shares that she's finally the favorite. It's weird, this show is weird. Jenn agrees, saying she doesn't understand "polygamy humor."

It's time for Kody to leave and head back to Flagstaff. Meri says this is it, the final moment. She's done with their marriage and ready to start her new life. Kody takes a cue from Robyn and starts sobbing as he hugs Meri goodbye and says it's the "end of an era" and that it was a

"great run." Meri is nice, but still emotionless as she agrees that it's definitely the end. It's clear Meri wants this to be over and for him to just leave.

"It always blows me away that you get emotional like this. I just don't understand."

Kody tries to collect his thoughts.

"We had something," he says through tears. "We had something special." Kody and Robyn really are a good match, because they both cry and act confused about things they actually know the truth about.

Jenn and Nathan awkwardly stand in the room, pretending to look out the window, while Kody pours his heart out to Meri.

"It feels like it just all went to ****, sort of," he sobs. "And it was just one thing and then another and then another thing. And it's all okay... I'm not bitter anymore, I'm not angry. I'm glad you and I got that figured out. I'm glad we're able to be friends. I'm glad you're my favorite ex-wife. But it's the weirdest thing to be in that place. It is just heartbreaking in a way. And I love the life I have, but it's a very different life than what I had three years ago. It just seems like everybody else just went, 'This isn't important.'"

Kody, you are the one who made them feel unimportant. You are the one who blatantly favored one wife. You are the one who put Meri out to pasture. This is all you, dude.

Through it all, Meri is stoic. She nods understandingly, but you can tell she's uncomfortable. In a confessional, Meri says his emotions are confusing because in her eyes, it didn't have to be this way.

"I do not understand. I don't get it. I don't know where this is coming from. I do not understand it. I don't understand it. He has made it clear that he did not want me in his life, so why this emotion?"

Kody then does something unprecedented for him: He apologizes to Meri for the last years of their marriage. He says he's mourning the loss of their marriage. And then he bizarrely offers to walk her down the aisle when she gets married again.

In case it wasn't clear from the above quote, Meri doesn't understand any of this. She thinks he might be joking, but isn't sure. As they hug each other tightly for the last time, Meri states in a confessional that she is "floored" by his behavior.

"I don't know what to do with this," she repeats. Neither do we, girl. Neither do we.
